Q: What are the operating instructions for charging batteries?

A: Read the following Cautions before operating the battery charger.

  • This charger is intended for use with Nickel-Cadmium (NiCd) or Nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) rechargeable batteries only. Attempting to recharge any other type of battery with this charger can result in injury to the user and damage to the charger.
  • Recharge only one type of battery, NiCd or NiMH at a time.
  • Do not charge longer than the specified time. Overcharging may cause damage to the battery or the charger.
  • Do not expose the charger to moisture.
  • Remove the batteries from the charger when not in use.

Notes for Using Your Battery Charger

  • Batteries should be charged in pairs. You can charge two or four of the same type of rechargeable batteries (NiCd or NiMH) in the charger.
  • When inserting the batteries, verify the polarity of the batteries (+ and -) with the charger (+ and -).
  • If you are only charging two batteries, place them in the front panel of the battery compartment for charging.
  • When charging rechargeable AAA batteries, first pull down the adjustable battery contact plate, and then insert the batteries to hold them firmly in the compartment.
  • When the batteries are correctly placed in the charger, plug the charger into the AC outlet. The LED on the charger should be lit.

  • When you are finished charging the batteries, unplug the charger and remove the batteries.
