Remove the power switch assembly
- Turn off the computer, and then disconnect the power cord and all external device cables.
- Remove the access panel.
- Remove the front bezel.
- The power switch assembly, which includes the hard drive activity LED is located on the front of the computer. All cables for the assembly are tied together inside the case and end in a single connector.

Hard Drive LED
- Inside the case, disconnect the power and data cables from the rear of the optical drive.

- Lift the optical drive cage out of the case, and then set it aside.

- Lift the center bracket up a short distance, and then disconnect the power and signal cables from the hard drive. Set the bracket aside.

- Remove the air duct.
- Follow the cabling from the power switch assembly to its connection on the motherboard. Note the location, and then disconnect the cable.

- Free the cable from the clips in the case.

- At the right side of the control panel, press and hold the tab inward.

- Swing the front control panel away and off the case.

- Press down on the top edges of the hard drive LED, and then tilt it away and off the case.

- Carefully pull the cable out of the opening in the case.
Replace the power switch assembly
- At the front of the case, route the cable through the oval opening in the front of the case.
- Tilt the bottom of the hard drive LED onto the lower tab on the front of the case, and then press the top under the upper tab.

- Insert the shorter tab on the left side of the front control panel into the slot on the front of the case. Snap the longer tab on the right side of the control panel into its slot.

- Inside the case, route the power switch assembly cable through the clips on the bottom of the case.

- Connect the cable to the front panel connector on the motherboard. The cable is keyed to ensure proper cable connection.

- Replace the air duct.
- Hold the center bracket close to the computer, and then connect the power and data cables to the hard drive.

- Place the center bracket in the case so that the arrow markings on each end align with the arrow markings on the case.

- Place the optical drive cage into the case. Round knob-like extrusions on the front corners of the drive cage fit into U-shaped slots in the case.
- Connect the power and data cables to the rear of the optical drive.

- Replace the front bezel.
- Replace the access panel.
- Connect the external device cables and power cord, and then turn on the computer.
