- Turn off the computer, and then disconnect the power cord.
- Remove the left side panel.
- Inside the case, the memory slots are located between the CPU duct and the external drive bays.

- For more stability, carefully lay the computer on its right side.
- If necessary for working room, remove the add-in video card in the PCI Express ×16 slot.
- Press the release latches at both ends of the memory module outward.

- Lift the module out of the slot. Only handle the module by the top edge or sides. Do not touch the chips or gold connectors on the module.
Replace memory
- With the memory slot latches in the open position, align the memory module with the slot, and then press it down firmly.
- Ensure that the memory slot latches flip up to secure the module in the slot.
- If previously removed, replace the add-in video card.
- If applicable, stand the computer upright.
- Replace the left side panel.
- Plug in the power cord, and then turn on the computer.
