Q: How do I remove and replace the optical drive in the Hudson 915 6-bay case?

A: Remove the optical drive

  1. Turn off the computer, and then disconnect the power cord.

  2. Remove the computer case left side panel.

  3. Inside the case, locate the 5.25-inch drive bays near the upper front corner.

  4. If present, remove the shipping screw that secures the drive bay release latch in the locked position. Replacing the screw is optional.

  5. Slide the drive bay release latch toward the rear of the case.

  6. Slide the drive toward the front of the computer slightly, and then at the rear of the drive, disconnect the power and data cables and if present, any audio cables.

  7. At the front of the computer, pull the drive out of the bay.

Replace the optical drive

  1. At the front of the computer, slide the drive most of the way into the open bay.

  2. At the rear of the drive, connect any audio cables that may have been disconnected previously. Connect the data and the power cables.

  3. Slide the drive back into the bay until the front of the drive is flush with the front bezel of the computer.

  4. Lock the drive in the bay by sliding the release latch toward the front of the case.

  5. Replace the computer case left side panel.

  6. Connect the computer's power cord, and then turn on the computer.
