Input/Output (I/O) ports This graphic shows the input/output (I/O) ports on the rear of the case. Refer to the following table for more information.

Item Port Description
A PS/2 mouse port Connect a PS/2 mouse to this port
B PS/2 keyboard port Connect a PS/2 keyboard to this port
C Parallel port Connect a parallel device, such as a printer, to this port
D Serial port Connect a serial device, such a digital camera, to this port
E Monitor port Connect a monitor or other VGA display device to this port.

Note: If an add-in video card is installed in the computer's expansion slots, connect the display device to the card's monitor port, not this one.

F Line in jack Connect an external audio input source, such as a stereo, to this jack so you can record sound on your computer.
G Line out/speaker jack Connect powered speakers, an external amplifier, or headphones to this jack.
H Microphone jack Connect a microphone to this jack.
I IEEE 1394 port Connect an IEEE 1394 (also known as Firewire® or i.Link®) device, such as a digital camcorder, to this 4-pin port.
J Ethernet (network) jack with with status indicator LEDs Connect a 10/100 Ethernet network cable or a device such as a DSL or cable modem for a broadband Internet connection into this jack.
The LEDs at the upper corners of the connector indicate the status of the connection. Refer to the table at the bottom of this page for more information about the status LEDs.
K Four USB 2.0 ports Connect Universal Serial Bus (USB) devices, such as a printer, scanner, camera, keyboard, or mouse, to these ports.

Network LED Reference
LED Color LED State Description
Green Off 10-Mbps data rate is selected.
On 100-Mbps data rate is selected.
Amber Off LAN link is not established.
On (steady) LAN link is established.
On (blinking) The computer is communicating with another computer on the LAN.
