Q: How do I remove and replace/install an PCI card in the Hornet case?

A: Note: If you are installing a new card rather than replacing one, skip to the next section.

Remove the PCI card

  1. Remove the case cover.

  2. Remove the front bezel.

  3. Inside the case, lift up the drive cage assembly.

  4. Locate the card to be removed. AGP cards are longer than PCI cards.

  5. On the rear of the case, open the add-in card retention cover.

  6. Pull the PCI card out of the slot. You can seesaw the card end-to-end while pulling up, but do not bend the card sideways.

Replace or install the PCI card

  1. If you are installing a new card, perform the following steps. Otherwise, skip to step 2.

    1. Remove the case cover.
    2. Remove the front bezel.
    3. Inside the case, lift up the drive cage assembly.

    4. On the rear of the case, open the add-in card retention cover.

    5. Remove the slot cover that corresponds to the white PCI slot on the motherboard.

  2. Insert the PCI card into the PCI slot. Press down on both ends of the card in a seesaw manner to fully seat it.

  3. Close the add-in card retention cover.

  4. Lower the drive cage assembly.

    Note: When lowering the drive cage assembly, ensure that the cables under it are flat and do not get pinched.

  5. Replace the front bezel.

  6. Replace the case cover.
